Time to Say Goodbye!

Now that I am a Cosentino, I am going to be WAY too busy to post blogs on a regular basis.
This will be the last blog post I do for now.

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my adventures...I will have many more, of this I am certain!

My mama will be posting about my fun times on our family blog from now on, so if you want to see what we are up to, check it out:
Until next time, remember to support rescue and adopt a new friend..we really are great!

I AM ADOPTED!!!!

Today I found out what my BIG surprise is...

First, Mama took my foster collar off. I looked pretty funny without it!
Then, I got my brand new waterproof collar because I am going to learn how to swim in the summer.

In case you haven't guessed it, I am officially a Cosentino now!
I even have my very own picture on the family plaque!

Mama said she has known that I was meant to be with her since she first met me.
Imagine that...

It turns out I found my forever family right here in New York!
Life is really great!

Welcome Home!

Last night Daddy came home!
I was so excited that I wagged my tail and danced around the table for an hour!

This morning, I played with Daddy for a while...

Then I let him pet me a little.

Then we played some more. It is great to have the whole family together again!

Curious Events...

Maddox came back yesterday and something very strange is happening...

First of all, he is staying at the Stress' house. It is very nice there and they have a great toy box, but I thought Maddox was our foster brother.

Next, Maddox smells like the vet's office. He also has a strange new haircut.

Oh well, he doesn't seem to notice any of these things. Maybe it's no big deal after all.
Welcome back Maddox!

Another Day, Another Sweater...

Since there was not much snow this winter, Mama got a great sweater on sale that she had to get for me...
I am not sure how I feel about this sweater set.

Zoey understands where I am coming from. She is a big sweater dog.

I was a good sport and allowed Mama to put the sweater, the scarf, AND the hat on. I even posed for pictures. If you ask me, I can't WAIT for spring to get here.
Unless of course they make spring sweaters for me...

A Different Kind of Vacation...

This week is a vacation week! I love vacation weeks!
The only thing is something strange is going on.
Before vacation started, Daddy was packing a suitcase. Then he and Mama left and only Mama came back.
We haven't seen him since and it has been 2 bedtimes without him!

Mama says not to worry- Daddy went to Germany to go to a wedding and he will be back before we know it.
Either way, it's kind of strange without him, so sometimes I just look around to see if he is back yet.

Don't get me wrong, I am a Mama's boy. But still...I do love Daddy too.

My Big Surprise?

As I mentioned before, there has been talk of a big surprise around here.
I think I may have figured it out...

This weekend I got my very own living room bed!

It is high off the ground and very comfy.

Zoey got the same bed!
Of course that means we can swap beds all of the time.

Even Emmitt wanted to try out my new bed...
He looked silly on it!
He didn't stay very long and soon I got my bed back.

If my bed is the big surprise, I LOVE IT!
If not, I wonder what else my fosters have in store for me...

Keeping Busy

We have been taking it easy the past few days as Maddox rests his bad leg.
Of course, that means we need to find other ways to entertain ourselves...

The Kong helped a lot...It was filled with all sorts of yummy treats, like carrots and peanut butter!

Maddox kept on taking mine, but I let him since he was not feeling well.

I am sure glad we get to help Maddox rest, but I hope he feels better soon so he won't steal all of our Kongs!

How Far We Have Come...

Since we try to keep our blog upbeat and positive, we always focus on the wonderful accomplishments I have made...there have been MANY of those!

For example, click on this video of me walking on a leash- something that was VERY scary for me before New York (I came here with a giant red sticker on my transport crate that said "WILL NOT WALK ON A LEASH...DON'T EVEN TRY.")

Pretty great, wouldn't you say?

Although we celebrate my great strides to becoming a happy dog every day, I do have some HUGE steps ahead of me.

For example, I am still really scared when anyone else takes my leash. I thought the deal was only Foster Mama could walk me. When someone else tries, I flatten to the ground and will not walk. I am just not ready yet. It's pretty hard to trust anyone after seeing how scary the world can be.

As we come closer to my 6 month anniversary, there has been some talk around here about exciting events coming up for me and my foster family.
Want to know what? Me too!!!
Stay tuned ;)

Our Together Vacation

I have been to Foster Grandma's house about once a week, but we usually go hiking, play, and then go home. This week, we stayed at her house for bed-time and she wasn't even there.

At first it seemed strange, especially when I had to go outside on a leash to potty.
After one sleep there, I decided that since all of my dogs and people were there too, I didn't need to worry.

It turns out we had some great adventures, including cuddling on the couch after long hikes,

taking naps on the couch after playing in the woods,

And my favorite of all...snuggling with foster mama while she took a Saturday nap.
Adventures are fun, especially when you are with your family!

The Places I Go...

A few weeks ago I took my very first trip to Auburn.
I even got to go by myself with Foster Mama and Dad!

In Auburn, I met the little dogs. They had all sorts of little dog toys that I played with.

I was a little nervous at first, but then I found out something super amazing...

When you stay under the table at dinner time, everyone wants to give you tasty treats!
Foster Mama made sure I didn't eat too much, but I did love the chicken!

After an evening of socializing, we curled up on the couch and I took a nice nap.
Being social is hard work!

Chilly Dog Days

Although I don't mind the sweater in the house for pictures and in the yard to play, I just don't like to wear it on our hikes.

I think you can see why.

When we hike, I just keep moving fast to keep warm and that seems to be working for me.

I still am not ready to walk free yet, but that's ok. I just like to be outside. In fact, I come right to foster mom when I see my walking harness these days. It always makes her hug me and tell me she is so proud of me. I really like hugs now too, but only from Foster Mom.

Here you will see my fashionable new royal blue leash to match my walking harness.
This was donated to to us by one of the first ever foster dogs in this new house- Mackie- now Zach-
and his mama.
Thanks so much! Your new leash allowed me to get rid of my mis-matched purple leash ;)

The Big Foster Brother

On Sunday, we got a new foster brother at our house.

I was hopping all over the place when I met him!

I plan to teach him all about snow and New York.

We don't have any pictures of us together yet, but this is me after a hard day of playing with a dog my own age.

It was really fun, but I also have to teach Maddox manners, and that is exhausting!

Here is Maddox. Maybe learning is exhausting too!

Basket Buddies

Zoey and I are really best friends. She loves to play with me and she even shares her basket with me.

The other night, we started a fire and watched a movie, so we all found a comfortable spot to lay in.

Then we switched spots...

and switched spots again.

Eventually, we got it right!

I ended movie night with some playtime.

I am a pretty funny guy!

My Snow Day!

This morning started off just like an average school day...
Everyone got up & got ready. While I was just about waiting to go into my downstairs house for the day,
something strange happened.

All of my people put their sleep clothes back on and we got to play all day!

When we got outside, the ground was COVERED in snow.
That was different. Last night we walked with Indigo and Foster Mom Kathleen for a some extra circle laps because it was so warm outside.

It was really cold and windy outside.
Zoey wouldn't even stay outside for one minute after she went potty!
Foster Mom tried to put my jacket on me, but I didn't want it. I just wanted to play in that snow!

It was a great snow day!!
