My First Snow!

Today I got quite the surprise when I went outside...
There was SNOW on the ground!

The snow was VERY cold all over me.
I stuck out my tongue and tried to eat some, which only made it disappear.

I shook really fast to try to get rid of it, but it just kept on coming back!

So I just let it land on my back for a few minutes before I went back inside.

My first sweater is a little small on me these days, so my foster sister Zoey has been wearing it. She HATES the cold!

The next time I wanted to go outside, I got to wear my new winter jacket.
There was more snow on the ground, but I was pretty toasty.

In fact, Marvin and I actually played for awhile in the snow. It made it a lot more warm!
My Foster Mom tells me we will have plenty more snow to play in soon...

A Few of My Favorite Things

Did you know that dogs in NY get there very own ice cream treats???
I was not really sure about all of those crinkly grocery bags the first few times I saw them, but I noticed everyone else waited anxiously when the kitchen was filled
with them.

Now I see why! Foster Mom and Dad give each of us a very special treat called Ice Cream out of those crinkly bags every time!

My favorite flavor is peanut butter, but mint is good to. This stuff is good!

Another one of my favorite things is my kitchen blanket. Sometimes I get to feeling like I want to spend too much time in my day crate, so we decided that we would keep it closed until it was time to go. So now, I have a corner in the kitchen where I feel safe. The only trouble is Marvin tries to steal it from me! That Marvin!

Oliver on the Go!

Today we went on a HUGE adventure. We went across the street to play with our neighbors.
Foster dad carried me across the street and set me down in Indigo and Laaika's yard.

At first, I stuck close to Emmitt and checked it all out.

It didn't take me long to start exploring. I practiced the stairs several times (maybe this will help me to feel better about going down the stairs at home).
Stairs are pretty scary when you have never seen them before!

I felt very comfortable playing in the yard. I was playing like a pro before too long!

I even made a new friend, Chase!
She is shy like me, so we just sniffed each other a lot.

Foster dad was there to give me love when I needed it. I would come back every few minutes to check in with him and Foster mom.

The last part of the adventure was my least favorite. Foster mom made me put on a leash. I DO NOT like leashes at all. They scare me terribly!
But, since I was having fun, I forgot about that leash and it just sort of followed me around while I played. It wasn't that bad.

When I got back to my yard, I let Foster mom hold onto my leash because she promised me she would not drag me. That made me feel better, since I am starting to trust her.

I only took a few steps on that leash, but boy were my foster people proud of me!
They told me that baby steps were a great start and that we have many adventures in our future once we learn to walk on that leash.
I don't know about that...Those steps I took today were hard work!

Fall in NY

The days have been really nice, but this morning there was frost on the ground! I don't like the way frost feels on my paws, but once the sun came out, it was much better.

As much as I don't like the cold, I do love the new smells in my yard that come with the fall.
I spend lots of time exploring! Here I am with my new bandana, doing some exploring.

The other thing I have noticed is that the sun goes away much earlier, so we have to do our play time in the house before bed. That's ok...we play hard enough that we can use the extra rest!

Our Vacation

Since I don't like to leave my house (or even my crate, for that matter) my foster parents had a puppy sitter come and stay with us this past weekend. Aunt Marybeth stayed at our house for 3 days! At first I was very nervous...my routine changed soooo much and I do not like change.

Marvin loved Marybeth so much! I think she even spoiled him and let him sit on the couch with her! I hope foster mom and dad don't find out ;)

As for me, it took me awhile to work up my courage, but I finally did. By her last night there, I came up to her and let her pet me. She was so surprised! I wonder why everyone is so excited to pet me around here...
I sure am glad to have my routine back, but I did just fine during my latest adventure. My foster parents are very proud of me!
