My New Sweater

Since last time I blogged, the weather has been getting much cooler at night. This makes me shiver because I am not used to the North and how cold it gets here. Lucky for me, my foster mom got me my very own sweater!

I let her put it right on me and then let her pet me to show her I was not scared by the sweater.
Marvin has a new sweater too. He gets a lot of attention when he wears it on his evening walks. He sure loves that!

The sweater is super soft and put an end to my shivers when I go outside to play at night.

My foster mom says wait until winter...I will have many more sweater to keep me warm when it snows. Good thing I like to wear sweaters!

Crazy Little Thing Called Love...

These Foster Parents of mine sure are sneaky...

Every night after we play, eat, then play some more, they give every dog in the house some love.
Some dogs wag their tails, some roll over and get their bellies scratched, and some just turn into a statue (that's what I do).

I am not sure how I became a part of this activity, but I have come to expect (maybe even accept) it.
I hate to admit it, but I do like to have my ears rubbed. Sometimes I even make little grunts and smile.

Maybe it isn't such a bad thing after all, this crazy little thing called love.

Finding my Voice

The other night I realized that I have a voice and that when I use that voice, I can get people to understand what I need....
You see it started with me waking up in the middle of the night because I needed to go potty. I let out a tiny little whimper and my Foster Mom got right up and took me outside to do my business!
It was great- until I realized that the backyard is pretty scary at night without my foster brothers so I didn't really want to come back inside for awhile.

My Foster mom called me and crouched down to get me to run to her, which made me think she wanted to play chase. That silly mama! Who wants to play chase at 1:30 AM?
I finally got my courage back and made it inside, upstairs, and back to bed.
I really do think I am getting braver every day!

Mornings are Made for Playing!

In New York, my new favorite part of my morning routine is Play Time!
I always have lots of doggie friends who will play with me.

I run and I chase and I even play tug-of-war!

Emmitt and Big Marv are my morning playmates.
Emmitt sure is a big puppy!

Just look how relaxed I am when I am playing!

Life is getting better every day!

A New Way of Life

One thing I have learned about my new family is that they LOVE to take pictures of me! I am not sure what to make of all of these flashes and photos, but I suppose I will get used to it. Plus, the other 4 dogs in the house don't mind at all.

I am learning to tolerate gentle pets and even kisses from my foster people.
I don't like to come to them to get attention (like all of the other dogs in the house seem to do) but I will sit very still when I come into the room and allow them to pet me.

Marvin is my foster brother who came from Darlington with me. He has no trouble being brave and sometimes I watch him to see how he reacts before I decide to try something new. He can be a pain , like yesterday when he kept racing me into my crate and getting there before me. I hated that!  Even though he teases me, he always gives me kisses and when I was too scared to leave my crate, he brought me his favorite toys and set them in my crate with me.

He taught me that the kitchen is a nice place to relax at night.

He has also spent a lot f time playing with other puppies in the neighborhood.
This is my FAVORITE thing to do!

I may be shy with people, but I know how to have fun when it is time to play with my doggie friends! My forever home needs to have a dog that is looking for a great playmate! Sometimes when I am playing, I forget that I am shy and my tail wags like crazy because I am so happy. It makes my foster mom and dad laugh like crazy.

My Arrival...

I arrived in this place called New York about a week ago and boy was it a scary trip! You see, I am a super shy guy and I LOVE routine. When I left the shelter in Darlington, I lost the only routine that I knew and had to learn a brand new one.
Luckily, I am becoming more and more brave each day, so not only am I adjusting, but my foster mom and dad say I am flourishing in my new environment.
Since I am still too shy to meet all of you just yet, you can watch as I come out of my shell on my very own blog!

This is me on my first day at my foster home. I hid in my crate all day long!

After my foster dad carried me downstairs, I began to feel a little brave, so I started exploring my new home a few steps at a time.

By the end of the day I was exhausted! It is REALLY hard work being brave!
